Playing quizzes and saving progress
Quizpen does not ask you to create an account or provide your name or email. For ordinary knowledge-quiz rounds, we save the selected questions, answer order, your answers and unfinished input, score, personal best, and last-played time in local storage on your browser. This lets you resume a round or revisit your result. We retain up to 40 topic records and discard records that have not been updated for 90 days when reading or saving progress.
This progress is not sent to a Quizpen database and does not sync between devices. Anyone using the same browser profile may see it. You can clear saved rounds and personal bests using “Clear saved progress” on the homepage. Clearing this site’s browser data also removes it. If storage is blocked or full, play continues but progress may last only while the page is open.
Friend challenges, focused skill practice, daily challenges, and saved-question reviews do not overwrite your saved ordinary round or personal best. Their answers, and answers to personality/reflection quizzes, are held in memory for the current visit rather than saved as quiz progress.
Daily streaks, missed questions, and topic tools
The daily challenge saves the UTC dates you completed, your best daily scores, and completion times on this browser for up to 366 days. Its “Clear daily history” button removes those records. The missed-question queue stores up to 200 source-question positions, topic versions, and missed times for up to 90 days. It stores no submitted answers. A correct answer removes that question; “Clear review queue” on the review page clears the queue.
The Stardew Valley tracker saves checked donation IDs and the standard bundle version on this browser until you reset the checklist or clear site data. Exporting a backup downloads those IDs to your device. Restoring a backup replaces the local checklist. Chess practice, crochet searches, and worksheet selections stay in the current page. These records are not sent to a Quizpen database and do not sync across devices. If local storage is unavailable, saved features may last only during the visit.
Aggregate activity counts
Quizpen’s first-party usage counter sends counts for quiz starts, completions, replays, and print or download actions to its own website endpoint. Each request contains only the action, the resource path, and the practice mode. When the counting database is available, it combines these into daily totals and removes buckets older than 366 days when a new action is accepted. It stores no individual answers, scores, search text, visitor IDs, cookies, or IP addresses in that database. Preference and reflection quizzes are excluded. A print or download action counts the button press; it does not prove that a file was saved or a page was printed.
You can turn this counting off below. The choice is saved on this browser until you change it or clear site data. We also respect enabled Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. These choices affect Quizpen’s first-party counting; advertising has its own settings described below.
Aggregate activity counting is loading for this browser. Browser privacy signals can also turn it off.
Saved quizzes and search
The bookmark buttons on the homepage store a list of saved quiz IDs in your browser. You can remove a bookmark by pressing its button again, or clear the list by removing Quizpen’s site data in your browser settings. Favorites remain until you remove them or clear that data. Searches and category filters run on the page; Quizpen does not send the text you type in the quiz search field to a search service.
Fresh question rounds
We store the question IDs used in your recent practice rounds in local storage on this browser. This helps avoid repeats when you reload, retry, or switch between a quiz and its flashcards. This record contains no answers, scores, name, or account identifier and is not sent to a Quizpen database. Clearing this site’s browser data resets the question history. If storage is unavailable, fresh rounds still work during your current visit.
Sharing your score
Share challenge opens your device’s sharing menu when available, or copies your challenge for you to paste. The message contains the quiz name, your score, an answer grid, and a link. Copy challenge writes that message to your clipboard. The WhatsApp, X, and Telegram buttons open the selected service with the message and link ready for you to review and send.
A new challenge link includes your score and a round identifier containing the question positions, bank version, and shuffle seed. This lets your friend play the same questions and answer choices. Anyone with the link can see the target score. The URL can also appear in browser history and website request logs. Your individual answers and typed input are not included in the URL. Save score image creates an image in your browser and downloads it to your device. You choose what to share; we do not post messages automatically.
Advertising and cookies
Quizpen uses Google AdSense. When its code loads, your browser sends Google information such as the page URL and your IP address. Google and other third-party advertising vendors may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and process IP addresses or other identifiers to provide and measure advertising and prevent fraud.
Depending on your consent and settings, Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to personalize ads based on your visits to Quizpen and other websites. You can opt out of Google's personalized advertising in Google Ad Settings, and explore choices offered by participating third-party advertisers at YourAdChoices.
Quizpen does not use a separate analytics service to collect your quiz answers or scores.
